The Provincial Regional Championships.
This is a major annual youth tournament that brings together the top age-grade players from across the province to compete for regional pride and, more importantly, for selection to provincial representative teams.
Core Purpose & Pathway
The primary goal of the PRCs is to serve as the final selection tool for the BC Bears (BC’s provincial representative teams). BC Bears coaches attend the championships to scout talent for upcoming development camps and summer competitive programs.
The Competing Regions
The tournament features four main regional teams:
- Vancouver: Represented by the Vancouver Wave.
- Vancouver Island: Represented by the Crimson Tide.
- Fraser Valley: Represented by the FVRU Venom.
- The Interior: A combined region representing the Thompson/Okanagan, North, and Kootenays.
Age Divisions
The championships are held for both Boys and Girls in three primary age brackets:
- U15
- U17
- U19
(Note: Pre 2024, the divisions were organized as U14, U16, and U18.)
